A law student in France, a lawyer in Texas, a professor in Bulgaria, my life has been one of colorful experiences and people, and a journey marked by the constant pursuit of self-discovery.
A few years ago, I rediscovered a lifelong passion for jewelry and created a mixed media, sculptural collection, using leather and semi-precious stones. This was the first, shy step away from my legal past and the beginning of a multi-faceted creative life. Since then, I launched a fine jewelry line (www.nevenabentz.com), published a book of French poetry, and am exprimenting with song-writing as a hobby.
Of all of these various pursuits, visual art is my greatest passion. My creations are chapters of a visual diary that show where I am at a certain time and place, offering a fragmented peek into my inner world. I use bright colors as a bold statement that we should embrace who we are, dare to reveal all the colors of our individuality by breaking free from societal conditioning, relinquishing expectations and accepting the natural order of things.
