About this artwork

This series of paintings is very dear to me and close to my heart, even though the whole inner process to create it wasn’t pretty. I call it “Embracing The Wholeness”. It arose from the feeling that something in me broke. Something crushed. And when it happened, I just stood there in the middle of the road, without understanding anything and without knowing what to do next. It left me with nothing else than emptiness, confusion and no other choice than to take a journey through my inner landscape in order to heal. The journey took me on a walk through my deepest abyss and memories. It forced me to dive into the forgotten, twisted and mysterious places which I had to face. Sometimes it was painful, sometimes I could see the light and sometimes I just had to rest but most of all I painted. I painted the whole journey. I created painting after painting. I thought that if I translate everything what I experienced into pictures then I would feel alive again. I emptied everything to the last drop until it was nothing left to paint and then I was done. This difficult part in my life was over, and the story was told. The story of being lost and finding the way back home again.

Each painting is signed and numbered on the back.
