About this artwork

This oil painting on a linen canvas was realised in the artist's studio using several watercolours made on location. La Pointe Courte is a small fishing harbour in Sète between the Thau pond and the Mediterranean sea. The 'capéchades' are nets used to catch sea bass or eels. The artist loves the peaceful atmosphere and the exceptional light of this little harbour with its fishing boats, nets and fishermen's huts. He loves the reflections in water . In his marine paintings in that place he tries to convey what he feels every time he goes there.
