About this artwork

Inspired by the paintings of Degas when I was visiting musee d' orsay last year. Flowers are a recurring element in my work. For me, flowers represent nature in its uninhibited, alluring, yet fragile state. Flowers have been personal metaphors for honesty and privacy. In my previous paintings, flowers creep to cover faces and other parts of human figures or metamorphose into them as if to suggest a longing to retreat to our natural true selves.
