About this artwork
For many, the great lockdown was a return to basics. It took a long time for Rebeiz's body and psyche to settle into the idea of home. For a while home meant comfort and solace to her, but during lockdown, it became an inescapable box. This is the first painting she worked on in 2020, with the utmost reluctance. It is an ode to the freedom within that she knew she had to look for.
