About this artwork
Red is not a color I use in abundance. So this painting is an exploration that is a little different. The color took on a certain level of intensity. At the same time it is almost an interior scene, with different spaces geometrically distinct like Matisse would do, or Diebenkorn. Almost like a touch of orderly, familiar was needed to temper the heat.
