Roy’s Art Fair is the largest free-entrance contemporary art fair in the UK; a national art show created by artists Roy Tyson & Samuel Peacock to promote emerging and established artists, and bring together everyone that enjoys art in a relaxed, fun, open, accessible atmosphere.
Since 2012, Roy & Sam have been working as professional artists and exhibited nationally and internationally. It was during this time of going through the intense emotions of applying and exhibiting in art shows when Roy felt he wanted to create an art fair that offered a true experience for both, artists and visitors, and at the same time be able to use the knowledge acquired through his own experiences to help other artists to get the outcome they want from art fairs.
He pursued his idea and nowadays Roy’s Art Fair is a reality that provides artists with an alternative platform to present their work and a team of professionals that offer them valuable guidance where needed during the whole exhibition’s setup process.
The fair team states that they differentiate themselves from other art fairs happening in the country through offering free entrance, free workshops for visitors, a varied art collection with a wide price range, and an interactive experience with the artists that allows collectors to learn more about the art they like and purchase it directly from the creator.
After a record-breaking edition at the Londoner OXO Tower in the month of April, October 3rd 2019 is set to be the kick-start date of their 5th edition, in which they increase size and ambition.
Determined to grow faster and stronger, the fair will be host to over 90 emerging and established artists at the renowned Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, London, during the annual Frieze week. Another two dates are already planned for 2020, one in the month of April at Bargehouse in London and another one in May in Glasgow.
"Roy's Art Fair will reach new heights with our new location in the iconic Truman Brewery. We are also very excited to be running our fifth fair at the same time as the Frieze international Art Festival. With so many events running in London at this time, Roy's gives the customer a fresh way of enjoying Frieze, more approachable, affordable, and fun. With thanks to the steady success with each fair, we are now able to extend our support to a wider group of artists and ensure our community provides them with the right knowledge and tools to make the fair a triumph."Roy's Art Fair
On their October 2019 edition they will be collaborating with the mental health charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) to raise awareness on the importance of creativity and expression for positive mental health. Free workshops will be running throughout the event by special guest artists aimed at all ages and abilities, in which participants will be able to explore their own creativity.
